Celebrating Dog Party Day

June 21st is National Dog Party Day! Our canine pals definitely deserve to be celebrated, especially this year. Fido has been a huge support in troubled times, and his cute antics and unwavering loyalty have definitely helped see people through.  Read on as a local Seven Oaks, TX vet offers some tips on how to pamper your pet on his special day.

Take A Walk

Walks aren’t really a special occasion for many of our canine buddies. After all, Fido does need to get out every day. However, why not take your pooch down a different route or trail? Fresh air and sunshine is good for you both!

Treats will definitely get Fido’s cute tail going! Offer your furry friend a special snack. Store-bought goodies are fine, but you can also make something. Here’s an easy one: combine a cup of rolled oats, a half cup of shredded cheese, a half cup of bacon bits, and 2 eggs, using a food processor. Roll the mixture out, divide into small portions, and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes. Done!

Toys are obviously very fun for dogs. However, did you know that playing is also good for Fido, both mentally and physically? Buy or make your pet some toys, and spend some extra time playing with him. This can make for some adorable photos!

New Digs

Does your furry buddy have a yard to patrol? If so, why not get Fido a doghouse? Choose something that offers great insulation, but isn’t too big or too small. If your pooch already has a doghouse, give it a thorough inspection and a deep clean. Or, ‘pupgrade’ it by painting it or adding a deck or kiddie pool.

Photo Session

Man’s Best Friend is very photogenic! Candid shots are great, but why not go for some higher-quality pics? Try to get some really good photos of your four-legged pal.

Comfy Bed

Comfortable beds are definitely one of the finer things in life in Fido’s book. (Actually, we have to agree with that assessment.) Get your furry bff a new bed!

We know, Fido would drop this from the list if he could. However, he will look, feel, and smell better with proper care!
