8 Things That Annoy Your Cat

Cats are full of interesting—and often hilarious—quirks. They can be cuddly and loving one minute, only to give you some ‘cattitude’ the next. And, although every kitty is unique, these little furballs do share some very specific likes and dislikes. Read on as a Bee Cave, TX vet lists some of Fluffy’s pet peeves

Loud Noises

Have you ever dropped a pan and seen Fluffy hightail it for the other room? We suspect the answer to that one is probably yes. Cats like their domains kept nice and quiet. This actually makes purrfect sense. After all, Fluffy does spend the majority of her time napping.

Car Rides

Car rides are one topic that Fluffy and Fido almost always disagree on. Most dogs love going for rides, and are quite eager to hop into the car. Kitties, on the other hand, tend to be homebodies, and don’t like leaving their domains.

Our feline pals all have their own unique purrsonalities. Some love to be petted and cuddled. Others? Not so much. If your kitty is more aloof, she may only tolerate being petted once in a while. The rule of thumb here? Let Fluffy decided when it’s time to snuggle.

Lack of Attention

On the other end of the spectrum, some cats are furry little cuddlebugs that would love to be snuggled 24/7. These furry little divas may get annoyed—or even depressed—if you don’t pay attention to them.

Incorrect Attention

Have we mentioned that cats can be very particular about attention? The wrong type of attention is also a big no-no in Fluffy’s book. For example, many kitties will refuse to let people touch their bellies, but absolutely love forehead rubs.

Although there are a few cats out there, such as the Bengal, that never got this memo, most of our feline buddies are not very fond of getting wet.

Like many pets, cats thrive on routine. Fluffy can get very stressed out by major changes, such moving or changing owners.

While some cats get along very well with their canine roommates, this isn’t always the case. Fluffy may find her canine buddy quite annoying, especially if he keeps licking her, chasing her, and/or eating her food.
